A Message In The Stones:

The Cydonia Controversy

The Cydonia plane, the face on Mars, a pyramid, a lost city from our solar system's distance past or a natural rock formation carved out by asteroid and meteorite bombardment? The controversy rages on. Some call the Cydonia plane a barely interesting geological rock formation others have referred to it as an ancient temple dedicated to Martian moon gods.

Evidence that an anomaly exists is mounting. There have been calculations performed by respected scientists, private researchers and UFO-ologists on the probability that the face is a natural formation. Their findings have concluded that the odds of a natural formation of this face-like carving, on a large rock due to any associated natural phenomenon, is about 1 in a 360 trillion. In other words it is an improbable anomaly. Some have even stated that there is in fact a second facial structure approximately 3397 km due east of the original face near one of Mars' bigger collision scars. Pictures reveal that there is a definite wedge-shape structure there, but features may or may not resemble a face. However they do resemble something structural, something possibly built by intelligence.

When all the anomalies are calculated together the odds of the entire Cydonia regional complex being a natural formation equates to about 1 in 1.4 billion. NASA officials have dismissed the Cydonia plane as being a phenomenon of natural origins, but their reluctance to send probes over the area and their attempts at dismissing the region all together have conspiracy theorists salivating like Pavlov's dogs.

Comparisons to the Cydonia plane and the Giza Plateau have been made by such respected explorers/writers such as Graham Hancock and Dr. Robert Bauval, among others. They have proven that similarities do exist between the Giza Plateau and other ancient monuments with the night sky. Also, Graham Hancock has alluded to the fact that the Cydonia plane has similar features in common with the Giza Plateau in his excellent book The Mars Mystery. In fact, his various well written books; 'Heaven's Mirror', 'The Mars Mystery', 'Message of The Sphinx', and 'Fingerprints of the Gods' go to great length to demonstrate, convincingly so, a correlation between heaven and earth. These books are an essential read to anyone fascinated with the unknown. Especially the ancient anomalies of earth and sky.

In fact recent study performed on an ancient Native American mound complex here in the United States, in the State of Ohio, has revealed that the ancient builders designed the complex based on the phases of the moon and the positioning of the moon and stars in the night sky. Yet another example of an ancient culture attempting to parallel the night sky on earth. Speculation has stated that the Martian complex was constructed with the same idea in mind, only that it was Mars' twin moons, Phobos and Deimos, that these ancient Martians patterned the Cydonia plane after.

I guess the big question is can the controversy ever be resolved? The answer; Not until a manned flight lands at in the Cydonia plane and examines these anomalies. Only then will we be able to solve this mystery. As far as science fiction goes, the Cydonia plane mystery is fodder for any number of 'ancient aliens visiting Earth' stories. It makes for a good yarn, indeed.

New Controversial Hieroglyphics Revealed

By: Lloyd Michael Lohr

On a recently aired special the American television network, Fox, presented, for the first time ever, images of a controversial hieroglyphic panel from a Seti I temple located in Southern Egypt. These hieroglyphics depicted a helicopter, a flying disc and another technologically designed object of undeterminable origin. This footage aired here the United States recently during a live telecast of an Egyptian tomb opening. It was stated by the host that these images had never before been seen by the public and had been, until recently, against the law to view. What were they afraid of? That all the theories taught for the last seventy years by Egyptologists and accepted as truth would evaporate in a heartbeat? This is a most interesting development indeed, since these hieroglyphics were being presented as authentic. Stay tuned for further updates!
